Graduate Prospectus 2010-11

Eligibility for awards offered by the Cambridge Trusts

Applicants:

  • must be admitted to Cambridge through the University's normal academic procedures. The Trusts cannot admit students.
  • may come from any country of the world except the United Kingdom.
  • may apply to study any subject currently available at the University.
  • must have a first class or high second class honours degree, or its equivalent, from a recognised university. For universities which work according to the North American pattern, candidates will be expected to have excellent transcripts with high GPA scores showing evidence of sustained achievement in study.
  • from countries of the European Union may be eligible for fees awards from public authorities, and must apply for these where appropriate.
  • who are not native speakers of English are required by the Board of Graduate Studies to provide the results of an English language test and to meet the minimum standard of proficiency required for admission to Cambridge (see 'Entry requirements')

Applications for funding from sources other than the Cambridge Trusts

All applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for awards offered by other bodies than the Trusts, whether sources in Cambridge or sources in their home countries. Candidates from the European Union are reminded that they must, where eligible, apply separately for public fees awards from the Research Councils.
