Teaching and Research at Cambridge
Teaching and research in Cambridge is organised by a number of Faculties and a smaller number of bodies entitled Syndicates. The Faculties and Syndicates cover the whole of the academic programme in the University, each being responsible for a broad subject area. The Faculties have different organisational sub-structures which partly reflect their history and partly their operational needs. Most scientific Faculties are divided into Departments, of which there are about sixty.
An administrative grouping of various Faculties and Departments is covered under a School. There are 6 Schools in the University � Arts and Humanities, Biological Sciences (including Veterinary Medicine), Clinical Medicine, Humanities and Social Sciences, Physical Sciences and Technology.
The research activities with India cover the wide spectrum of disciplines and research areas. An overview about our joint efforts and individuals involved in various activities can be found in this section.
