MoUs
The University of Cambridge has signed a number of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with Indian organisations to formalise joint working arrangements between academics from both countries and with Indian industrial partners, and to create student internships. A common feature of these agreements is their emphasis on enabling Cambridge students and postdocs to spend time in India, as well as facilitating flows in the other direction.

INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, MUMBAI

Collaboration in area of nanoscience and nanotechnology as it is applied to nano-structured materials and nano-structured devices. Joint activities to include exchange visits by senior academic staff and the provision of scholarships, funded by the Cambridge Commonwealth Trust, to enable members of IITB to pursue research degrees at Cambridge, at either the Masters or doctoral level.

TATA INSTITUTE FOR FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (TIFR)

The purpose of the MoU is to record the mutual interest of TIFR and Cambridge in exploring prospects for developing joint research, workshops and exchange visits of researchers in areas of mutual interest. These would include a broad range of subject areas including mathematics, computer science, theoretical physics, condensed matter physics, astronomy and astrophysics, high energy physics and biological sciences.

The purpose of the MoU is to record the mutual interest of Tata and Cambridge in the development and implementation of a student placement programme, under the Tata International Social Entrepreneurship Scheme (TISES) that would provide summer internships for Cambridge students annually with Tata Group's community initiatives in India. It is proposed that up to 5 students from the final year undergraduate and graduate cohort will participate in the programme.

NATIONAL CENTRE FOR BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES (NCBS)

The purpose of the MoU is formally to record the mutual interest of NCBS and Cambridge in development and implementation of (a) a programme that would provide summer internships for Cambridge research students at NCBS, (b) an annual lecture series, and (c) a researcher exchange programme.
